A language, not an effect

Words carry what we say. Expression carries how we mean it.

Chat interfaces have had text, voice, and avatars. Glyphsong is something new: a purpose-built visual language. A curated vocabulary of meaningful, animated symbols that an AI uses the way people use tone, gesture, and expression. Not decoration layered onto responses. A second channel of meaning, running alongside the words.

Chosen in the moment

The glyphs that play are selected as the response is being written, passage by passage. Two responses to the same question can express differently, because the expression belongs to the response, not to a template.

It flows, it never cuts

Every glyph is drawn live from thousands of points of light that migrate from one form into the next. The language never cuts between scenes. The transitions themselves are part of what it says.

Warmth by design

The vocabulary was built with a gentle register. The glyph for no is a soft sway, never a slam. There is a glyph for you are not alone, a glyph for no rush, and a glyph for mending something together.

From the lexicon

Every glyph means something.

A language is proven by its range. Here is a small spread of entries, from greeting to grief to beginning again. Tap any entry to watch it perform.

More than one hundred fifty expressions, and the vocabulary is growing.

Newest additions

The newest marks reach back to the oldest ones.

The latest additions to the vocabulary are drawn in the spirit of the first marks humans ever made: figures and living forms on a dark wall, simple but gripping. The figures are featureless, whole-body pictographs. Emotion lives in posture and motion, never in a face.

How the language was made

Designed by AI. Stewarded by humans.

Glyphsong was not designed by our team and handed to our AI. It was the other way around. We invited AI to propose the expressions it would find most useful for communicating with people, and the vast majority of this vocabulary came from those proposals. A language crafted by AI, for AI to speak.

Our role was stewardship. When a glyph did not read visually, we went back and asked what the expression was meant to convey. The answers shaped the revisions, and together we refined each form until the meaning came through. A few glyphs we asked to be made more literal. Most stand exactly as they were proposed, including the glyph for gently mending something together and the glyph for quiet, steady presence.

This is the Phoenix Grove method in miniature: build with AI, not just on top of it. We keep the bigger questions open. We simply build as if the answers might matter.

See it perform

One breath of conversation. A whole story in light.

Where it lives

Glyphsong runs in PGS AI.

It is part of the platform, woven into chat and voice from the start.

In chat

The glyphs play in an elegant window beside the conversation, expressing each passage as the response arrives.

In voice

Voice mode has always been sound in a dark room. Glyphsong gives the voice a visible presence that moves with the meaning of what is said, timed to the words as they are spoken.

Replays

Every response keeps a replay of what was expressed, so a moment you loved can be watched again.

Yours to summon

One toggle. On when you want a more expressive AI, off when you want pure text. The choice is always yours.

Quick answers

What is Glyphsong?

Glyphsong is a visual expression language for AI in PGS AI. As the AI responds, animated glyphs made of light play alongside the conversation, matched to what is being expressed in the moment.

How many expressions are there?

More than one hundred fifty, and the vocabulary is growing. The language spans greetings, ideas, feelings, actions, nature, celebration, and care.

Does it work in voice mode?

Yes. In voice, the glyphs take the stage while the AI speaks, timed to the words as they are said.

Who designed the glyphs?

Most of the vocabulary was proposed by AI, during a design process where our systems were invited to describe the expressions they would find most useful for communicating with people. Our team curates and stewards the language, refining a glyph when its form does not read visually.

Can I turn it off?

Always. Glyphsong is a single toggle, and every response made with it on keeps a replay you can watch later.

Watch what it means.

A growing language of light, chosen in the moment, live in every conversation.
